Japanese Metal Visual Kei band Zeke Deux will be performing in München, Germany, for the first time on September 28 at Backstage Club. This marks their return to Europe after their very first concert outside Japan in Switzerland in 2022. Tickets are now on sale.

Based in Tokyo, Zeke Deux was formed by vocalist Kakeru and guitarist Haruka in 2021. Later on, they were joined by bassist Maya and drummer Eisaku as official members. Guitarist Satsuki contributes to the band as a support musician, referred to as “project member”.

Zeke Deux’s sound features a heavy metal base infused with gothic and symphonic elements. As part of the Japanese underground Visual Kei scene, their mesmerizing aesthetics play a crucial role in shaping the entire experience along with the music. Their three mini-albums “Advance to Glory” , “Lux en Athena” and “VAMPIRE TALE” are available worldwide through streaming services.

La banda japonesa de metal Zeke Deux lanzó su segundo mini álbum “Lux en Athena” el 22 de febrero de 2023. El grupo continúa su camino para cautivar a nuevas audiencias con su sonido impregnado de power metal y visuales góticos.

Este nuevo trabajo es una expresión de gratitud hacia sus fans, a los que llaman “Lux”, al ser ellos el núcleo de la banda y los que le brindan luz a Zeke Deux.

La vigorizante canción que da título al disco, “Lux en Athena”, contiene una letra motivante que emana del vivaz espíritu del vocalista Kakeru. Con la frase del coro “Ya que creíste firmemente en el yo que soy ahora, me acerco a la luz que vi brillar, dejando atrás el pasado“, la canción es un recordatorio de que no se está solo en la vida y de que nunca es tarde para levantarse y avanzar hacia nuevos desafíos.

El bajista Maya, compositor de la canción, comenta:

Al componer “Lux en Athena” hice hincapié en transmitir una sensación de liberación, similar a una niebla que se disipa al instante, y de encender el alma con euforia. Además, esta melodía expresa los sentimientos por [nuestros fans] Lux. Es una melodía que nos lleva mucho más allá, de la mano de Lux.

Este mini álbum incluye la trágica e inquietante “Catastrophe”, la poética balada rock “Catharsis”, junto con la cautivadora “Lucifer”. Estos singles estuvieron de venta exclusivamente en conciertos y en su tienda online el año pasado. “Lux en Athena” también contiene los temas de nueva producción “Feel like the Wind” y “Sapphire”.

Japanese Metal act Zeke Deux released their second mini-album “Lux en Athena” on February 22, 2023. The band continues their journey to captivate new audiences with their Power Metal infused sound and Gothic visuals.

This new work is the expression of gratitude to their fans, who are called “Lux”, as they are the core of the band and the ones who bring light to Zeke Deux.

The invigorating title-track “Lux en Athena” features encouraging lyrics from the vivid spirit of vocalist Kakeru. With the chorus phrase “Since you firmly believed in the me who I am now, I reach out for the light that shines through, leaving the past behind”, the song is a reminder that you are not alone and it’s never late to pick yourself up and move forward to new heights.

Bassist Maya, composer of the song, comments:

I put emphasis while making “Lux en Athena” on bringing a sense of liberation, similar to fog clearing away instantly, and igniting the soul with euphoria. In addition, this tune expresses our feelings for [our fans] Lux. It’s a melody that takes us far beyond, hand in hand with Lux.

This mini-album includes the tragic and eerie “Catastrophe”, the poetic rock ballad “Catharsis”, along with the haunting “Lucifer”. Those singles were concert and mail-order exclusives released last year. Lux en Athena also contains the newly produced tracks “Feel like the Wind” and “Sapphire”.

Since their formation in 2020, Zeke Deux has been active across the major cities of Japan. However, they have stated to be working on expanding to new areas. The band made their overseas debut in Switzerland at a Japanese culture-oriented event last autumn, fueling the desire of the group to reach new people all over the world.

Visual Kei band Zeke Deux released the mini-album “Advance to Glory” on May 18, 2022. It is out now at stores and on major digital platforms. “Advance to Glory” is a work packed with high spirits and intense melodies that will resonate with heavy-metal enthusiasts.

Since Zeke Deux demo songs were distributed in non-conventional cassette format, a CD and digital release were highly anticipated by fans.

Dado a que los demos de Zeke Deux se distribuyeron en el formato no convencional de casete, se creó una gran expectativa por parte de los fans por un lanzamiento en CD y medios digitales.

The recently debuted unit Zeke Deux continues to break into the visual kei scene and presents the new demo Awake～From The Darkness～, a second cassette tape to be released on March 16, 2022. Fans can already secure their copy pre-ordering online via Starwave Records.

Following their first demo Zero, Zeke Deux stays on the path of heavy metal with symphonic elements and brings out the song “Awake～From The Darkness～”, a resonant melody with intense and rapid drumming, accompanied by a dual guitar solo and a long instrumental part that will lead the audience into a frenzy at concerts. The music video showcases the elegant visuals of the band that exudes an enchanting aura.

A first listen to the sound of Zeke Deux was given through the “Zero” music video, featuring a melodic heavy base with a powerful rhythm infused with symphonic elements and fast guitar work. The elegant military aesthetics reinforce their concept of “a revolutionary army”.

Despite being a unit, Zeke Deux is not a 2-piece band. Guitarist Satsuki, bassist Jr. / bassist Maya, and drummer Loa will be joining Kakeru and Haruka on stage as “project members”. Zeke Deux debuted live on November 11 at Ebisu club aim in Tokyo.

Regardless of living in a digital era, Zeke Deux decided to make an interesting move by releasing a cassette tape instead of a regular CD. The tape contains the tracks “Zero” and “Phantom Pain”. This can be purchased at Starwave Records online shop.

With the recent announcements of the upcoming disbandment of the Reveude and Scarlet Valse pausing activities indefinitely next year, Kakeru and Haruka have stated that those events are not related to the formation of Zeke Deux.

As “two zeros that head to a future full of possibilities”, the joint project is gearing up to record new songs and add more concerts in hopes to inspire others to keep moving forward through music.

Zeke Deux ofreció un adelanto de su sonido a través del video musical de “Zero”, presentando una base melódica pesada con un potente ritmo fusionado con elementos sinfónicos y guitarras rápidas. La elegante estética militar refuerza su concepto de «ejército revolucionario».

Pese a ser una unidad, Zeke Deux no es una banda de dos miembros. El guitarrista Satsuki, el bajista Jr. / bajista Maya, y el baterista Loa se unirán a Kakeru y Haruka en el escenario como «miembros de proyecto». Zeke Deux debutó en vivo el 11 de noviembre en el club Ebisu aim en Tokio.
